LIBRARY ASSISTANT OPENING AT PUSKARICH LIBARRY
 The Puskarich Public Library System is seeking an energetic, responsible, customer service-oriented paraprofessional to join our team.  The ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and experience with online media, services and software, and a strong commitment to customer service.
 
JOB TITLE:    LIBRARY ASSISTANT                                 DATE: NOVEMBER 2019      
LOCATION:    PUSKARICH PUBLIC LIBRARY, CADIZ, OH
HOURS:           Part-time (20 hours) including evening and weekend hours
SALARY:         Dependent on experience – minimum of $9.00 per hour
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 
• Reference Assistance—Answer patron questions, help with catalog and computer use, reader’s advisory, downloadable eMedia including eBooks and audiobooks, mobile device usage, database instruction.
• Programming—Assist with innovative, educational and entertainment-based programs for all ages.
• Technology—Promote library activities and services through social media tools, troubleshoot printer, computer, mobile device and software issues, ability and willingness to learn all new technologies
• Works collaboratively with library colleagues to provide the highest quality customer service and patron interactions.
• Assist with special projects, prepares materials for delivery, maintain appearance of library space, shelving materials and perform other duties as assigned.
 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
 
• Possess strong customer service skills, self-motivation, and time management.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Demonstrates respect for diversity, displays genuine interest in others, ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Proficient with emerging technologies and their application in library setting.
• Has strong organizational skills with the ability to set priorities and multitask.  This position includes standing for long periods; bending, ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and travel up and down stairs. Manual dexterity and physical ability to perform tasks (i.e. repeated lifting, pushing carts, carrying books and walking)
• Skilled in assisting customers with a wide variety of hardware and software including MS Office products; the ability to effectively troubleshoot printer, computer, mobile device, and software issues.  Teach technology skills.
• Flexibility in schedule with ability to work nights and weekends as required or at other library locations as needed.

ADULT SERVICES/MARKETING POSITION
 OPENING AT PUSKARICH LIBARRY
 The Puskarich Public Library System is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, customer service-oriented paraprofessional to join our team.  The ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and experience with online media, services and software, and a strong commitment to customer service.  Experience in coordinating educational programs, marketing plans, newsletter and flyer preparation.
 
JOB TITLE:    LIBRARY ASSISTANT- ADULT SERVICES/MARKETING             DATE: NOVEMBER 2019      
LOCATION:    PUSKARICH PUBLIC LIBRARY, CADIZ, OH
HOURS:           Part-time (21 hours) including evening and weekend hours
SALARY:         Dependent on experience – minimum of $10.00 per hour
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 
• Reference Assistance—Answer patron questions, help with catalog and computer use, reader’s advisory, downloadable         eMedia including eBooks and audiobooks, mobile device usage, database instruction.
• Programming—Create and present engaging programs.  Plan, promote, and organize innovative, educational and entertainment-based programs for all ages. Promote Summer Reading and prepare marketing materials, newsletters, bookmarks, flyers, and files for the inclusion on the library website.
• Technology—Promote library activities and services through social media tools, troubleshoot printer, computer, mobile device and software issues, ability and willingness to learn all new technologies.
• Works collaboratively with library colleagues to provide the highest quality customer service and patron interactions.
• Coordinates special projects, prepares newsletter and bulk mailing, maintain appearance of library space, preparing the library for holidays, shelving materials and perform other duties as assigned.
 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
 
• Possess strong customer service skills, self-motivation, and excellent verbal and written communications skills.
•  Must have prior experience developing a variety of successful programs and events, particularly for teens and adults.
• Proficient with emerging technologies, gaming, virtual reality, and their application in library setting.
• Must be able to problem solve, prioritize tasks, and handle confidential information.  This position includes standing for long periods; bending, ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and travel up and down stairs. Manual dexterity and physical ability to perform tasks (i.e. repeated moving chairs and tables, pushing carts, carrying books and walking)
• Skilled in assisting customers with a wide variety of hardware and software including MS Office products; the ability to effectively troubleshoot printer, computer, mobile device, and software issues.  Teach technology skills.
• Flexibility in schedule with ability to work nights and weekends as required or at other library locations as needed.
